Another very good experience at Ray's in the City!  On this occasion, we had just returned from a getaway up in the mountains and were ready to sit down, enjoy a glass of wine, and relax.

My wife and I shared the burrata, which was awesome.  Fresh burrata, heirloom tomatoes, and a very tasty pesto & balsamic reduction made for a perfect Fall dish.

My wife had the shrimp cocktail, and I had the crab cake (a la carte versus with sides).  Shrimp were tender Gulf shrimp; cocktail sauce had good heat and flavor.  The crabcake was rich with a nice side of Remoulade sauce.

Bonus: they thoughtfully brought out a piece of chocolate mousse cake in honor of my birthday (birthday week, it was!).

I just happened to find this place on yelp since it was near my hotel, and the reviews looked good. Usually restaurants in a tourist area are a mixed bag, but I would highly recommend this place.

It's not a very large restaurant and went around 1 pm on a Friday, so it appeared about 2/3 full and sat right at the bar. I don't know if it normally has more of a wait.

The bar tender, Steve I think was his name, was very friendly and most of the people around me knew his name and appear to be regulars.

The two dishes I got were prepared well and tasted great. The shrimp cocktail was not over cooked and texture was perfect without being soggy. Presentation was good with dry ice too. Cocktail sauce was good but may be too spicy for some. The roumelade sauce was mild but wasn't as exciting to eat as the cocktail sauce.

The shrimp and grits were very tasty and prepared well. This place was well worth the money. They appeared to have a very extensive bar but didn't order a drink, so I couldn't comment on that.

In the end, I would highly recommend going there.

This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the city. I usually stay at the hotel next door and walk over at least one, maybe two times in my trip. I probably should try other things on the menu but I can't get past my love for the blackened seafood platter. It comes with fish, shrimp, scallops and a crab cake with rice and green beans. It is always seasoned well and cooked perfectly. For appetizers we had the lobster bisque. It was good, but not my favorite one. It seemed to have been heavily tomato based. It had small chunks of lobster, a decent amount. Could have been more. He had the halibut, he said that it was seasoned well and fresh. The fried lobster appetizer was really good. Crab cakes as well.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Food is not bad. Service is good. Materials are fresh. Atmosphere is also good. However, quite overpriced and very small dish sizes, as well as the foods itself also not special (You can imagine without tasting). Never feel full with $50 per person even if you have all the free crackers. You may want to go to the Chick-fil-a across the street. Four stars in Yelp seems like over-evaluated.

This restaurant is top down one of the most sophisticated 5 star restaurant I've been to. The food is AMAZING. The best steak I've eaten in a long time. Our waiter Bryan was so attentive to us as we spoke about it being our Anniversary. He blessed us with some bubbly and a beautiful slice of chocolate ganache cake with raspberries on the side. He made sure we are enjoying our dinner every time he passed by the table.
PS Be sure to order the Lobster Parmesan Risotto. So very delectable.
